Germany - North Rhine-Westphalia - Cologne Cathedral

Cologne Cathedral is a High Gothic five-aisled basilica (144.5 m long), with a projecting transept (86.25 m wide) and a tower façade (157.22 m high). The nave is 43.58 m high and the side aisles 19.80 m. The western section, nave and transept begun in 1330, changes in style, but this is not perceptible in the overall building.

Of the many works of art in the Cathedral, special mention should be made to the Gero Crucifix of the late 10th century, in the Chapel of the Holy Cross, which was transferred from the pre-Romanesque predecessor of the present Cathedral, and the Shrine of the Magi (1180-1225), in the choir, which is the largest reliquary shrine in Europe. Other artistic masterpieces are the altarpiece of St. Clare (c. 1350-1400) in the north aisle, brought here in 1811 from the destroyed cloister church of the Franciscan nuns, the altarpiece of the City Patrons by Stephan Lochner (c. 1445) in the Chapel of Our Lady, and the altarpiece of St. Agilolphus (c. 1520) in the south transept.

In 1996, the cathedral was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List of culturally important sites. In 2004, it was placed on the "World Heritage in Danger" list, as the only Western site in danger, due to plans to construct several high-rise buildings nearby, which would have visually impacted the site. The cathedral was removed from the list in 2006, following the authorities' decision to limit the heights of buildings constructed near and around the cathedral.

Khanh Hoi Bridge - Ho Chi Minh City

Location: over Ben Nghe Canal, connecting Ton Duc Thang Street (District 1) and Nguyen Tat Thanh Street (District 4).

Khanh Hoi Bridge was built in 1904 by the French to facilitate the goods transportation from Cho Lon market to Ben Thanh market.

It was called "pont tournant", meaning "swing bridge". The bridge got its name due to its unique design with a middle span that can be rotated horizontally for easy passage of boats. However, in the 1940s, the bridge was fixed because a railway line was installed on the bridge leading to the port area. After 1954, Khanh Hoi swing bridge was dismantled to build a new one with concrete and was named Bac Binh Vuong Bridge.

In 2006, to build the Saigon River Tunnel, Khanh Hoi Bridge was demolished to build a new higher one. The new bridge has a length of 167 m with 4 spans, a width of 22 m, meeting four traffic lanes and was put into use on January 24, 2009.

The bridge has a surprisingly soft structure and clever lighting, which will be amazing as any photo background. On both sides of Khanh Hoi bridge are well-known tourist hotspots such as Nguyen Hue pedestrian street and the Ho Chi Minh Museum.

Italy - Portogruaro

Portum de Gruario, crossed by the Roman road Via Ania, was first mentioned in a document from 888. In 1420, the Republic of Venice granted the city the customs office, extensive administrative autonomy with a monopoly on the trade of iron and salt. With the transfer of the bishopric headquarters from Concordia to Portogruaro in 1586, the city was elevated to the status of Civitas. In 1840, Luigi Camuffo relocated the world's oldest shipyard from Chioggia to Portogruaro.

La Pescheria, with its beautiful ancient port loggia, is one of the most characteristic places in the city. It is the small seventeenth-century wooden oratory dedicated to the Madonna della Pescheria. It was a devotional place for the fishermen of the Lemene River who organized in the Compagnia della Tratta and used to bring offerings to their patroness on the occasion of the feast of the Assumption. The ritual is re-enacted every year on August 15, with the traditional Caorline and Batee boats.
